Mrs. Nabila Hamza
Mrs. Nabila Hamza is a Tunisian sociologist/ researcher on political science and social development.
She is knowledgeable of the social and political dynamics of the Arab World acquired through the posts she held during ten years at the Arab League, those she undertook as the Head of the Centre for Research and Training on Arab Women (CAWTAR), as well as the numerous consulting missions she fulfilled in the region. She also has a wide experience in project management and program coordination, particularly in projects dealing with North/ South and South/South cooperation, in the areas of regional and local development, poverty reduction, gender and sustainable human development. She has contributed to the UNDP the Human Development Report (1994).
Finally, Mrs. Hamza has accumulated a wide scope experience in human rights and civil society. She is a founding member of many Tunisian women’s NGOs and is member of various scientific committees in African and Arab countries. She has been member of the high Tunisian commission, in charge of elimination of all forms of discrimination against women, member of the National Commission for Equal; opportunities and member of the National Commission (Women and Development) for the elaboration of the 8th and the 9th plan of Economic Development in Tunisia. Mrs. Hamza has many publications in social development, governance, poverty alleviation and globalization and gender issues.
